Life Space Matters® was established as a trademark for Charles C. McGowen, P.A. in 2003 to create the image illustrating the central entreprenurial endeavor's theme formed after a successful 24+ year career at IBM. During Mr. McGowen's time at IBM he held an array of positions and is honored to have had the priviledge to work with so many talented individuals from around the world. What you experience from our touch points on the web is significantly influenced by that experience. While at IBM Mr. McGowen succeeded at an array of assignments including;
- Marketing Education in the late 80's where he was ultimately responsible for planning and business accumen for the workstation sector curricula. He was accountable for the skills delivered to all 14,000+ sales and systems engineering professionals in North America.
- Marketing lead on the corporation's 1994 "local dial access to the Internet" effort. The team spanning 4 divisions of the company delivered in 100 days a global network, integrated with personal systems software in 87 countries and 23+ languages. As a result he and nine other colleagues were honored by the CEO and entire Senior Management Committee (1,200 executives) of the corporation.
- By the late 90's he was one of three in the Corporate HQ Worldwide Marketing Management Development department responsible for the marketing profession across the entire corporation. He was responsible for deploying the market planning process and infrastructure to all groups and divisions. In this role he was expected to effectively work with general managers as well as staff to assure timely delivery of business plans through the various functions ultimately to deliver the annual report to shareholders.
In addition to his IBM career Mr. McGowen was a professional scuba instructor. Over the course of a quarter century he taught hundreds of people about diving and the value humanity has vested in our oceans. He knows what it means to deliver skills through the courses, seminars, and material he teaches, even when both his and his students life depends on that student's comprehension of the material. That - is a situation exemplifying 'confidence in teaching' found in very few these days. In over a quarter century not one of his diving students has ever been injured and a few have saved other lives. He is a pilot and maintains an aircraft for use in this business. He has worked with real estate in one manner or another almost all his life. Early summers were spent working on survey crews and later owning and operating many rental properties. Mr. McGowen moved $2.6 million in real estate inventory his first 180 days 'officially' in the business. Mr. McGowen achieves gratification through other people's success and that has afforded in turn his own.
